Hutton project revived

Freeport Reports Hutton Processing Study Completed
Freeport Resources Inc. is pleased to announce results from an extensive processing study on its Hutton garnet sands. Work was completed by UBC's Center for Industrial Minerals Innovations (CIMI) under the direction of Dr. Bern Klein. Four different flowsheets were used to study the effects of various separation techniques on samples taken from South Beach in 1999. The overall objective was to prepare garnet concentrates for market testing prior to upcoming field work. CIMI's proposed flowsheet is simple and economical, but also highly effective. It consists of a scalping screen to remove coarse material, gravity concentration, dry high intensity rare earth magnetic separation, and optional electrostatic separation.
